PROJECT REVEAL // 'The Pines' Show Home Saskatoon

It's not every day that we select furniture for an entire main floor under a stringent time crunch, let alone in only 36 hours!  To be clear, that's 36 real hours, not 36 design hours.  The Pines is a show home in Saskatoon's north end and today we're revealing the staging project we completed for NorthRidge Builders, Saskatoon's Builder of the Year for three years running.  You may remember our first project with NorthRidge from our Brighton Terrace project reveal.

This was a whirlwind project to say the least - there was no time to debate over fabric selections or order furniture - I was at the mercy of what could be found in-stock in the city.  I'll admit, I had a few moments of doubt, but in the end, I love the result.  See if you do too...

Entertainment Area

NorthRidge provided a perfectly blank slate to start: neutral walls, white cabinets, + gray floors meant we had full flexibility with the color palette.  Right away I knew what the entertainment space need - warmth!  By using natural wood pieces such as the media console, shelving, + dining table, the space feels warm + inviting and the wood provided a great contrast to the light walls.   Although the wood tones aren't an exact match (who has time for that in 36 hours?!) they are the same tone and compliment each well.

By far, my favorite pieces in this room are those darling cognac leather chairs!  The channel tufting on the back plays off the linear stair railing and their modern shape keeps the more classic sofa feeling fresh.

It's all in the details... Personally, I love mixing colors rather than sticking with one 'accent color' throughout.  This time, I lucked out with what I could find in stock without traversing all over the city because there just wasn't time to develop a design plan ahead of time - instead, I selected the larger pieces first, and the accessories somewhat fell into place.  I wanted to keep the feel contemporary but with a bit of Farmers Daughter 'boho' in the mix as well.

Kitchen + Dining

The kitchen didn't require too much styling but I added some wood-seated stools to bring warmth into the kitchen space.  White cabinets are so easy to work with and would allow the future homeowner to change up the kitchen style fairly easily using different accessories (espeically awesome for our four distinct seasons we have in Canada).

The 'artwork' in the dining room was conceived, mostly out of necessity, in the store aisles - sometimes that's where the best ideas hit!  The metal piece is meant as office storage but I think it's better filled with plants (big surprise there!).   I used faux plants for ease of care but if this was in my home, I'd definitely try it with real plants.

The Master Bedroom

The master bedroom at The Pines has great natural light thanks to the large windows NorthRidge includes in their builds, and I kept the staging somewhat minimal.  An upholstered bed with deep tufts creates a feeling of luxury while various tones of blue keep the room feeling relaxed - just the way a bedroom space should be!

Guest Bedroom

The guest room came together really quickly and ended up being a fairly neutral room with subtle hits of turquoise and tones of white.  The nod to nautical comes from the rope lamps which also add texture and tie into the cognac leather from the living room.
