TOP TEN // #farmersdaughterflatlay 2019

FLATLAY FRIDAY // our end-of-the-week thing. Our ‘it’s Friday, let’s celebrate’ thing. The ‘Flatlay Friday’ is a tradition we started during 2018 + it’s one we are taking with us into 2020. We love showing you what inspires us - palettes + textures that we find while living life on the prairies. On Friday’s we dream up concepts from the colours, materials + finishes that make up our classic ‘prairie modern’ aesthetic + we share them with you through our flatlays.

Here are your top ten favourite #farmersdaughterflatlay ‘s from 2019….

3.Contrasting material selection can have such an impact - take the juxtaposition of the smooth + matte tile layered with the rattan swatch. It feels current + modern yet will stand the test of time.

PROJECT REVEAL // Mid Century Farmhouse - Our Kitchen reveal

Back in the summer of 2020, our family moved into my grandmas’s farmhouse south of Swift Current…I call it a farmhouse because it’s on a farm yard but really the house was built in 1964 and has more of a mid-century vibe than what you think of when you hear ‘farmhouse’.

Changes to the kitchen can be some of most dramatic transformations you’ll see in a home renovation and our ‘Farmhouse Refresh’ project is no exception. What started as a drab + dysfunctional space has been completely revamped into a fresh-feeling farmhouse kitchen with an air of timelessness that will serve our clients for years to come on their family farm.

You don’t see a lot of personal posts around here but this one is extra special - you may know that my husband Shayne and I recently had our first baby, a boy, Cyrus, this past July. PROJECT REVEAL // Wailea Bath: Before + After

We love a good bathroom remodel here at FDI, especially when we get to share a ‘before and after’ with you!

As one of the most frequently used spaces in a home, a bathroom remodel affects daily life in such a positive way. Just think about how much time we actually spend in our bathrooms in a given week. Crazy, right? Although they can be a bit of extra work and sort of a pain to remodel, we think it’s well worth it!
